Research Design and data availability
This study consisted of set of questions added to the post-election (November) 1979 regular Eurobarometer (Rabier), linked to a campaign study (Reif), an elite study (Schmitt) and a study of the media in several countries (Blumler).
The mass survey data are available as part of the regular Eurobarometer surveys of Spring and Fall 1979 (EBs 11 and 12), archived at the ESRC Data Archive, University of Essex; at the ICPSR, University of Michigan; and at the Zentralarchiv fuer Empirische Sozialforschung at the University of Cologne.
The elite survey data ("European Political Parties' Middle Level Elites Project [EPPMLE]") are available from the Zentralarchiv fuer Empirische Sozialforschung at the University of Cologne.
